Celebrating Christmas at Home

To all St. Bernard’s families,

This Saturday would have been our annual Christmas party here at St. Bernard’s. Unfortunately, due to Covid we had to cancel yet another event.  To help celebrate this season and this coming Sunday in advent we would like to see all the joyful things your families have been doing.  Send us a photo of your family doing an activity that brings you joy during this season. Maybe it is looking at Christmas lights, drinking hot coco, dressed in festive outfits or pj’s, coming to church, making gingerbread houses, baking cookies and holiday treats, decorating the Christmas tree, setting up your own home decorations, or anything else that you have done.  Please send your photos to Tim McDonald at tmcdonald@stbernardblgs.org or marys@stbernardblgs.org so they can be shared with the parish community.

As well as those pictures we will be having a contest for the best DIY nativity scene.  Go around your house and find items that you can use to create your own nativity scene as a family.  Use your creativity and see what your family can do to celebrate the coming of Christ this Christmas season.  The two winning categories will be cutest and most creative.   The deadline is Sunday December 27th and the winners announced by Sunday January 10th.

The rules are simple:
1) you cannot use a premade nativity collection

2) it must include the minimum of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus
