As we begin the second semester of school at Billings Catholic Schools, we also celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Our greatest appreciation goes out to Father Dave and all of the St. Bernard parishioners and staff for the support given to our schools during this most challenging year. We are grateful that our schools are open and thriving in spite of the pandemic. Currently all of our students are back on campus except those at-risk students who have opted to stay home and learn remotely. Temperatures are still checked daily on entry, and all students and staff members socially distance and wear masks throughout the day.
We are blessed to live in Montana and in Billings where some elements of school and life have been able to continue with adjustments in place to keep our students and staff members safe. Our volleyball team earned a state championship, numerous students have been awarded Arts Without Boundaries Standout Student awards, the music department was able to perform in a socially distanced Christmas Cantata, and our students continue to volunteer providing meals for St. Vincent DePaul and painting windows throughout downtown Billings.
Adam Liberty was recently named president of the Billings Catholic Schools Foundation. He will serve as a liaison between the BCSF, Billings Catholic Schools and our Catholic community. Adam, his wife Danielle, and their three children have been a part of Billings Catholic Schools for much of their lives. Danielle is an '05 BCCHS alumnus, and their children attend Saint Francis Catholic. Adam feels blessed to have the opportunity to work with the Diocese and our local Catholic priests and parishes as well as staff, students, friends, alumni, and supporters of Billings Catholic Schools. We welcome Adam Liberty and his family to our Montana Catholic community.
